Here’s a Darwin smoothie recipe to help build your fitness & wellness. It’s also a unique, vegan, strawberry, banana smoothie recipe that you can also use in top smoothie bowl Darwin combinations.
I’ve also included a picture of another my Darwin smoothie bowl mixes, with a brief comment on how they’re done.
In this strawberry tofu smoothie, you’re getting an especially low sugar, high protein mix that’s as delicious as any Darwin smoothie, or any other smoothie, you’ll ever find. Enjoy.
With many smoothie bowl Darwin combinations
A Darwin smoothie bowl, or any other type of smoothie bowl, starts with a normal smoothie mix in a bowl. Then, you add grains, seeds, nuts, or other healthy and nutritious options, to build it out to more of what you may eat for a meal such as breakfast.
In addition, a smoothie bowl is not a liquid you can drink. It’s something that you eat with a spoon.
In my case, for instance, I often put my Darwin smoothie recipe into a bowl, and then add my breakfasts like steel cut oats, or black rice breakfast pudding, or mung beans, or whatever.

Most of my smoothie recipes also have a full frozen banana added, or at least half of a frozen banana.
As I outline further below, it not only adds the many benefits of Darwin bananas (or bananas from anywhere), but also has the effect of fluffing up the dish for its taste and look.
And yes, bananas are at the upper end of the scale of sugary fruits, do don’t over do the banana you add.

Organic, soft tofu to avoid upsets
As I’ve said in a recent email and blog post, I’ve found that non-organic versions of tofu often have substances that cause IBS, or upsets, or bloating.
So, I recommend the type of organic, soft tofu you see in the picture below.

I’m just making suggestions to save you the hassle of finding the products, or getting IBS! I’ve been there!)

Darwin smoothie recipe ingredients
Here at the main ingredients for your Darwin smoothie bowl (if that’s how you use it), or just for the meal in a glass version!
- Punnet of strawberries
- Between a half and one full frozen Darwin banana, depending on their size
- 50 grams of soft tofu, ideally organic
- One vanilla pod, with the vanilla scraped out
- Plant based milk such as organic soy, and ideally a gluten free brand of it.
Tips and comments
Here are other useful things to know about your your Darwin smoothie recipe, or smoothie bowl Darwin mixes.
- The amounts above make at least 3 smoothies of the size in my picture
- Choose strawberries when they are in season, so then they are especially sweet
- Add more strawberries if you want an even stronger flavour
- Freezing Darwin bananas is a way to “plump up” the texture of the smoothie. It makes it more creamy, and a bit more fluffy. (It’s a smoothie secret!).
- See the frozen bananas from Darwin below. It’s also an easy way to save them for later when they all ripen faster than you can eat them. But, ideally, don’t eat them or freeze them when they are very ripe, as they contain even more sugar by that stage.

Making your vegan strawberry banana smoothie recipe
Follow the steps below for whatever smoothie bowl Darwin or other smoothie style that you’re making.
As you can see, once you have the ingredients, it’s very straight forward.
- Blend all of the Darwin smoothie recipe ingredients until you reach the consistency you want.
- Adjust thickness via adding a little more milk, or more of the other solids.
