Who are the Coolalinga yoga classes for?
For now, at Flametree Yoga Coolalinga, it’s mainly beginner yoga classes, suitable for any size, age, and gender. Non-beginner classes now run too, on Tuesday and Thursday at 10am.
Some classes also have a special focus. But, all classes help you get fit, calm, well, and happy.
All classes are adjusted for who’s actually in the class on the day of the class. So some are easier than others.
Before or after the class, tell the teacher if an easier or more challenging class works best for you.
In addition, the yoga poses, or their level, can be structured so they work especially well for back issues, or are gentler yoga, or more relaxing yoga, or whatever.
All classes include some more active yoga poses at the start, such as standing poses. Then, some slower poses are used to calm, rejuvenate, and de-stress.
Relaxation Yoga (or easy, beginner level Restorative Yoga) uses more props than other classes. It’s especially good for cutting stress, anxiety, and blood pressure. It also especially helps sleep, and weight reduction (by reducing emotional and stress based eating).
Flametree Yoga Coolalinga teaches very effective beginner yoga poses. They are yoga poses in their own right, or variations of poses suitable for beginners.
In addition, you’ll learn poses that prepare you for higher levels yoga poses, such as with inverted poses (such as Shoulder Stands), or backbends.
All Flametree yoga pass packages, and free classes, can also be used at any of Flametree’s weekly beginner yoga classes at Woolner, Palmerston, & Casuarina.

A very reputable Stanford professor, says:
- “…Without intervention, age-related declines in the range of motion (or flexibility) average 1% per year, from 20 onwards. They’re inevitable unless you deliberately work on it.
- A consistent stretching practice can improve range of motion and offset the age-related decline in flexibility.
- A dedicated range of motion (or flexibility) practice increases flexibility and also improves posture, reduces pain, improves gait, etc.
- Stretching also induces relaxation at a local and systemic level.
