So, here’s the recipe I learned at Flametree’s Bali retreat.
I keep a jug of it in the fridge and take a small “shot” of this Indonesia Tumeric drink every day.
Among it’s many other benefits, you’ll never be “irregular”… if you regularly use a small amount of this top gut health detox drink!
But for the same reason, to make good use of what I think is one of the best detox drinks for gut health, just use the “shot” amounts I discuss and show below.
Among other things, this Tumeric detox drink is quite strong.
Plus, check out how I’ve improved the taste by adding some fresh squeezed orange juice, and cinnamon.

Overview of my favourite gut health detox drink
A favourite made with Tumeric, ginger, cinnamon, pepper, citrus juice, & olive oil. A daily “shot” will give you benefits such as being anti-inflammatory, a very strong antioxidant, lowering the risk of heart disease, delaying aging, & fighting depression.

The main ingredient for this Indonesia Tumeric drink
Tumeric, like you see in the picture below, is of course the main ingredient for this Tumeric detox gut health drink.
Tumeric also grows well in the sandy soils in the Dundee region of the Top End of the Northern Territory, Australia, where I live.
But it’s also grown prolifically in Bali. The owner of the retreat resort buys it, along with lots of other fresh food, at her local markets.
Then, it’s dried in the sun each day outside their kitchen, as you can see below.

My Tumeric drink “shot”
Below, in the picture, you can see the size of the small “shot” of Tumeric drink that I have each day.
With the jugs of it that are served at the Bali retreat, it’s easy to overdo it, unless you know better!
But, so long as I’m moderate (hard for me), then a daily Tumeric drink helps me feel great.

The key ingredient for the best detox drink for gut health
As I said, this is the best detox drink for gut health I’ve found.
I’m not usually into detox drinks, including Indonesia Tumeric drink. But learning this recipe, and regularly consuming it, has been a very helpful part of my healthy life.
But I do use Tumeric almost daily in my cooking.
I buy it at the local health food shop. You can store it in your fridge for weeks.

All ingredients: Indonesia Tumeric Drink
The picture above has the main ingredients, which are these:
- turmeric… washed and sliced… 3 quarters of a cup
- ginger… washed and sliced…a quarter to half a cup
- a quarter tsp. of cinnamon
- sprinkle of black pepper
- a quarter cup of each of fresh squeezed orange juice, and lemon juice
- approximately half cup of water
- half tsp. olive oil.
Experiment to get a taste that works for you… but the cinnamon is key.
Plus, the orange juice takes away the normal bitterness of Tumeric.
How to make Indonesia Tumeric drink
Here are the main steps for Indonesia Tumeric drink.
- blend Tumeric, ginger, black pepper and water until a paste
- add water if it gets too thick
- pour into pot, and bring to boil
- simmer for 15-20 minutes
- add lemon juice, orange juice, and cinnamon
- stir well
- pour into a strainer
- strain it to get a Tumeric drink
- add a dash of olive oil and stir
- cool in your fridge
As I’ve said, drink it as a shot in a small glass, with about a quarter of a small class each day.
Of course, add some honey if you need it sweeter.
