Yoga For Stiff Men | Why It Happens | Poses To Fix It.
I (Chris Lalor), often get asked about yoga for stiff guys, or yoga for stiff men. Some people also search for yoga for the inflexible male. Even if you’re a woman, the answers you need are below.
It’s usually due to muscle stiffness, or joint stiffness, or both.
In modern times, it’s often caused by too much sitting, either via long hours at a computer, or driving. It can be made much worse by bad, slow roads, and driving heavy, rough vehicles.
In addition, too much gym work, and building muscle bulk, without the right amount of stretching, also causes muscular stiffness.
It also get worse with age, as our cartilage dries out. In addition, your synovial fluid in your joints, does not lubricate as well as it used to.

The simple pose in the picture below, is a chair version of Triangle pose.
Using the chair helps you stay aligned, and extend both sides of the trunk evenly.
It also avoids having you fold forwards in a way that contracts your chest. Plus, the chair gives you extra stability.
Of course, it also works on your hamstrings, knees, ankles, glutes, and more… so long as you’re using straight legs, and otherwise following the guidance of your teacher.

There are a total 7 beginner yoga classes run each week.
You can join any one of them at any time. You don’t need any course or introduction to start.
All classes are at a level that will work for wherever you’re at. In addition, if needed, you’ll get extra, but discrete, guidance during the class.

Using a chair, like you see in the picture, is an excellent way to start learning basic yoga for stiff men and women. This is a version of the well known Triangle pose. It’s one of those used early in our yoga for stiff guys classes.
