Private trauma informed yoga class: your questions
What does trauma informed mean in a yoga class?
It means the class is taught with care. The teacher invites you to move at your own pace, gives you choices, and never pushes you into a pose. You stay in charge of what you do.
How long is the private class and how much does it cost?
The class is 45 minutes and the pass costs $139. A longer class can be arranged with the teacher.
How do I book?
Contact Customer Service first to agree a time. Then buy the pass on this page. All passes are bought in one purchase before the class, and you get a receipt.
Can I have the class online?
Yes. Chris sends you a Zoom link once the time is set. She can see your poses and guide you, so the class is two-way. You can also come to the Flametree studio in Woolner, Darwin.
Who teaches the class?
Chris Lalor, Flametree’s accredited Senior Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist, trained in the Iyengar yoga style.
Is a regular class a better place to start?
Often, yes. Chris teaches many of the beginner classes, and you can talk with her before or after class. Gentle Yoga and Easy Restorative Yoga are slower and easier. Try the beginner half price deal and see the beginner timetable.
What do I need for a private class?
A non-slippery surface, such as a mat. You can use a belt, a small block and a kitchen chair from around your home.
