The best way to start is simply get a pass and attend a first class.
At the studio, Flametree provides mats and other yoga props. All you need is comfortable clothes with room to stretch.
Just turn up 10-15 minutes before the class starts, and check in with the teacher.

Benefits of chair yoga to create easy pose options
Chair yoga poses, such as you see in our pictures and videos, are an easy way to get a good stretch.
Some examples of a chair pose are these:
- a forward bend where you hold the back of the chair
- using a chair as a starting position for the common Triangle pose
- putting your feet on the seat of chair to help you twist (like in the picture on this page)
- balancing, such as in Tree Pose, by holding the edge of your chair.
When good posture is maintained by using a chair, such chair yoga poses are still a great option to release tension, and otherwise help your central nervous system.
If you’re at home, doing your own chair yoga practice, or you’re online, then any chair will do, so long as it is not an office chair on wheels!
In some cases of people with mobility issues, or for very senior citizens. people can stay in a chair for much of the class. This is sometimes done in our Gentle Yoga class.
